Merlot

Arrived in the region centuries ago, Merlot adapted perfectly becoming a traditional variety in Friuli. The wine is elegant and floral with balsamic and spicy notes.

Mainly trained in the Guyot system, the vines of our Merlot benefit from marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin. The 2019 harvest took place in the second half of September. The healthy and perfectly ripe grapes are harvested by hand, in small crates, to preserve the integrity of the berry. Carefully destemmed, the fruit is then crushed. Fermentation is carried out with maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures in stainless steel containers. The wine matures in stainless steel and small barrels of French oak. The bottled wine is then aged in temperature-controlled binning cellars.

Merlot D.O.C. Friuli Colli Orientali 2019 – 14 % abv.
